Discovery Museum Traveling Workshops Kindergarten classes participated in a workshop about Force and Motion. The children discussed gravity, balance, pushing, and pulling. The students played with a variety of toys while discussing concepts relating to force and motion. Finally the students were able to design and construct their own inventions! The First Grade students had a workshop on Light and Color. This popular topic had students engaged from the beginning with prisms, flashlights, and colored acetate paper in the darkened auditorium! As the students discussed the topics, they moved to the tables to begin their projects. The students made spinning tops, illustrating how the colors blend as they spin. Finally the first graders investigated how different black pens produced different colors when sprayed with water! The Discovery Museum teachers always get our students thinking about the world around them! Thank you, parents! This program was sponsored by Enrichment and would not be possible without your contributions to the CSA. This program was supported in part by a grant from the Sherborn Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
